Theresa Kufuor’s Body To Be Paraded Through The Streets Of Accra

The casket containing the mortal remains of late former First Lady Theresa Aba Kufuor will be paraded through some principal streets of Accra, the Chairman of the Funeral Planning Committee, Nana Osei Hwedie, has said.

The parade will be held after the filing past and the funeral service of the former first lady at the forecourt of the State House.

“The body will be paraded through selected principal streets of Accra before we finally get to the Air Force base, where the body will be airlifted to Kumasi,” he said.

The state funeral in Accra is the first phase of the final funeral rites.

The former first lady died at her home in Peduase, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, October 1, aged 87.

The final funeral rite will be performed for the former First Lady at Heroes Park in Kumasi on Saturday, November 18.

She will be given a private burial.

Thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at St. Peter’s Basilica, Kumasi, at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs Theresa Aba Kufuor is survived by her husband, H.E John Agyekum Kufuor (Former President of the Republic of Ghana), and five children: J. Addo Kufuor, Nana Ama Gyamfi, Saah Kufuor, Agyekum Kufuor, and Owusu Afriyie Kufuor.
