The Chief Executive of The Ghana Report, Rashida Saani, has disclosed that a new initiative by her conglomerate to provide jobs will give Ghanaian youth the opportunity to thrive and shine.

Speaking at the launch of The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, Rashida highlighted that the fair will be a perfect avenue to tackle the unemployment canker plaguing the youth.

The fair will commence on Thursday, September 19, to Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Independence Square and the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The fair, which aims to bring together employers, entrepreneurs, job seekers, and innovators to explore employment opportunities, will offer thousands of real jobs to the youth while harnessing potential through rapid skill acquisition training.

“The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair is not just about finding jobs; it’s about building a stronger, more resilient economy for Ghana. It is about giving our youth and our workforce the opportunity to shine and thrive,” Ms. Saani said.

The Ghana Statistical Service pegs the unemployment rate at approximately 14.7% as of its latest report.

Highlighting the high unemployment figures, Madam Rashida Saani emphasized that the numbers represent real lives, aspirations, and potential for growth that must be harnessed to propel the nation’s economic growth.

The business maven said that the two-week event will provide a fair platform for the youth to showcase their talents and innovation and access employment opportunities.

This, the I-ZAR GCE said, will be done on a level playing field as participants will be judged purely on their qualifications, skills, and the value they bring, promoting a fair and transparent hiring process.

“The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair is more than just an event; it is a catalyst for change. This fair provides job seekers a unique opportunity to engage directly with potential employers, showcase their talents, and secure merit-based employment, not connections.

“We are committed to ensuring that all recruitment at the fair is free from protocol recruitment practices. I repeat, there is zero tolerance for “protocol list” at this fair,” Madam Rashida Saani stated.

The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair also promises employers vast opportunities to access a diverse pool of talent, ranging from recent graduates to experienced professionals.

Participating employers will also have the opportunity to enhance their business brands, network with other businesses, and support economic development.

Organised by The Ghana Report, a subsidiary of I-ZAR Group and winner of the Best News Portal of the Year and the Best Portal in Corporate Social Responsibilities at the 25th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair is a comprehensive platform designed to connect job seekers with employers and empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to succeed.

This fair will bring together key stakeholders from various sectors of our economy to create pathways for employment and innovation.
