The bird and the seed

Mathew 13:3 -23. As the sower was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the BIRDS CAME AND ATE IT UP. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow.

But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no roots. Other seeds fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still, other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

Sometimes when a bird eats up a seed that is not the end of that seed.

When a bird has eaten and digested the seed, it will deposit it in its feces which will then begin the growth process for a brand-new plant, often at a great distance from where the bird ate the seed.

Sir Mo Farah was brought to the UK illegally as a child and forced to work as a domestic servant. He was trafficked from East Africa.

He was given the name Mohamed Farah by those who trafficked him from Djibouti to the UK. His real name is Hussein Abdi Kahin. He went through difficulties and challenges in the UK but he pressed on regardless. Sir Mo Farah is now a 4-time Olympic Gold medalist and a global sports icon in athletics.

  • Just like how the seeds have no control over where they fall when they are sowed, we also don’t have control over who our parents are and where we are born.
  • Some seeds fell on good soil while others landed in terrible environments. In the Journey of life, some would begin with good foundations, and others would also start in very challenging environments, but it is what you do with your life what matters.
  • The type of environment you find yourself can affect the level of your increase. Sometimes you need to move to be able to increase.
  • God has HIS own way of moving you from one environment to another so you can flourish. This can be through uncomfortable means.  Seeds are moved from one location to the other by passing through the digestive system of a bird.

Just like Sir Mo Farah ( seed), it would not matter where you were born or how things turn up (bird eating the seed), everything would work out for your good just like Mo Farah. The  Seed will be deposited in the bird’s faeces and eventually transported to a very conducive environment for increase.

It is not over even when you have been eaten by a bird. Keep hope alive, trust the process, and press on regardless, one day you will win.
