‘The best peace council is a quiet one’ – KSM
Comedian Kweku Sintim Misa (KSM) has subtly thrown a jab at the National Peace Council (NP) for their deafening silence on the recent unrest in the country.
The council, which is charged to harmonize and co-ordinate conflict prevention, management, resolution, and build sustainable peace through networking and coordination, has been mute several days after fatal shootings.
“Some don’t seem to understand why the peace council is quiet. To them being quiet is their job. ‘Talking’ disturbs the ‘peace’. The best peace council is a quiet one,” the TV personality wrote.

In the past weeks, the media has reported pockets of riots, violence, and clash between security officers and civilians.
On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, some youth of Ejura in the Ashanti Region and security officers clashed over the murder of social activist Ibrahim Mohammed, alias Kaaka.
The confusion resulted in the death of two young men, both residents of Dagomba-Line, from bullets fired by security officers to disperse the irate youth.
Kaaka died on Monday at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The ensuing confusion also saw four people sustaining gun-shot wounds who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Some security analysts have condemned the use of live bullets by the police, but the Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh, has defended the use of live bullets by the police to disperse the protestors.
But the council, despite the call by civil society to condemn the brutality by the police, has been tight-lipped.
