The Bank Hospital refutes privacy breach in Daddy Lumba’s treatment

The Bank Hospital has officially responded to public concerns following the death of beloved Ghanaian music legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away at the facility on July 26, 2025.

In a statement, the hospital firmly rejected allegations of a breach of medical confidentiality, assuring the public that all aspects of Mr. Fosu’s care adhered to the highest professional and ethical standards.

“The care provided to Mr. Charles Kwadwo Fosu was delivered with professionalism, dignity, and strict confidentiality,” the statement said.

The hospital also clarified that the late musician’s family was actively involved in every step of his treatment process.

The clarification comes in response to widespread social media speculation suggesting that the hospital may have compromised patient privacy.

In light of these concerns, it said management has initiated an internal review to ensure full compliance with its protocols and to reinforce its commitment to world-class patient care.

“We take these matters seriously and have begun a thorough internal assessment of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Fosu’s admission and treatment,” the statement added.

The hospital called on the public to avoid spreading unverified claims and to rely on official, credible sources for accurate information.

The Bank Hospital extended its heartfelt condolences to Daddy Lumba’s family, the government, and the millions of fans mourning his loss across Ghana and beyond.

“We mourn the passing of a national icon whose legacy will live on through his music and impact,” the hospital said.
