Stallion Motors on Thursday launched the new models Changan CS55 and CS95—vehicles that attest how far China’s automakers have come with tech loaded vehicles in a competitive market.
The CS 55 and CS 95, mid and high-end SUV are equipped with the new-generation platform, contemporary design that offers best-in-class efficiency, performance and comfort.
The other models displayed at the launch included Alsvin and Eado in saloon segment and CS15, CS35, CS75 SUVs.
Products of a Chinese brand with 157 years under its belt, it benefits from a European Design team.
Changan CS 55 is designed and developed by Changan’s European Design team, and its shape draws inspiration from Obsidian (Volcanic Glass).
It is equipped with 1.5L Petrol turbocharged engine with115 KW/225 NM Torque and six-speed automatic transmission.
Changan CS 95, the company’s flagship SUV is a work of art that integrates a Butterfly front face design philosophy into extraordinary functions. The CS 95 is equipped with the Blue Core 2.0L turbo GDI direct-injection supercharged engine – which is the best in class.
It’s joined with the globally advanced Aisin six-speed automatic transmission and the latest BorgWarner NexTrac intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
Speaking at the launch of the vehicles in Accra, the Country Director of Stallion, Mr Mahesh Mahtani said the launch of the new models from Changan adds to the range and shows the company’s commitment towards bringing feature-packed best in class quality in an affordable range to the Ghanaian customers.
He said the company has sales and service outlets in and out of Accra and has invested in a state-of-the-art central auto parts and service centre at Accra to support the distribution of genuine parts across the nation for the upkeep of these vehicles.
“The service facilities offer preventive maintenance, mechanical and electrical repair to the body shop and paint booth and are periodically trained by Changan to ensure best service delivery,” he said.
It was very easy to recognize that Changan makers have trekked the path of their Korean and Japanese peers some 20-30 years ago—offering extremely keen price and high standard technology to overcome the unknown brand name syndrome.
Having benefited from topnotch technology transfer from Ford, Suzuki and Mazda and Bosch as well as engineering brains from Europe what these vehicles have as standard is what one sees either as optional in other brands and luxurious brands.
The self-parking, panoramic sunroof, intelligent parallel system, automatic back door 360-degree panoramic image system, LED headlights and other functions.
Vice Director for the Middle East and Africa Region of Changan International Corporation Mr Vinnie, stated that Ghana is a very important market for Changan’s global business.
“These vehicles will further augment the brand ethos of ‘Lasting Safety.’ As the leading Chinese car producer, our target is to be one of the top 10 global car brands by the year 2025 with more than 6 million units for annual sales,” he said.
