One person has been confirmed dead after a bloody attack perpetrated by unknown assailants at Bawku in the Upper East Region.
The incident, which occurred at a fuel station on Saturday, August 12, also left two others injured.
The Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, Hamza Amadu, shared details of the incident, stating that the assailants approached the Total Filling Station area and discharged a firearm, leading to the unfortunate loss of life.
The victim, identified as a Bolgatanga-based teacher, succumbed to the injuries inflicted during the attack.
The violence also caused harm to two women present at the scene. One woman suffered bullet wounds that penetrated her chest, while the other sustained minor injuries.
The attack has left residents and community leaders deeply concerned about the recent surge in such events within the area.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, leaving the community in search of answers and solace.
Mr Hamza assured the public that law enforcement agencies are diligently working to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this tragic incident.
