A primary school teacher, Samuel Bernie who is popularly known as Tuga has reportedly committed suicide at Domasua in the Sunyani West district of the Bono Region.
The teacher was discovered hanging under a cashew tree on Monday, September 25, 2023.
Information gathered indicates that the teacher committed suicide due to the mockery and ridicule he received from residents in the town after he was discovered to be bisexual.

According to a resident, Sofomaame Frema Ototoatuo Bossman, the teacher was married with children, one of whom is still breastfeeding.
The police were notified, and the body was recovered and deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.
Suicides have become characteristic of recent happenings in Ghana.

On Monday, July 31, 2023, the lifeless body of the Apaaso M/A Basic School headteacher was found hanging in his room in what is suspected to be suicide.
The deceased, 38-year-old Ernest Attah Kyei was found dead at about 4:30 pm on Monday, July 31, 2023, after relatives inquired about his whereabouts.
He was reportedly preparing for his wedding in a few weeks on August 20, 2023.
A suicide note and some bottles that contained poison were found in his room.
The victim, identified as Roland Chawey, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the well.
Reports indicate that the deceased, identified as Suleman, a scrap dealer, always complained bitterly about economic hardship and tried many times to commit suicide.
