Ta’adi Girls – Gov’t to provide bereaved families with support – Oppong Nkrumah
Government has disclosed that it will provide the necessary support to the families of the four missing Takoradi girls who have now been pronounced dead.
This news comes after DNA tests performed on some human remains found at the residence of the principal suspect in the kidnap of the girls had been confirmed to be that of the missing girls.
Addressing the media, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah expressed his condolence to the affected families and reiterated government’s commitment to support the families as they mourn their deceased children.
He noted “I think it is heartbreaking to receive this news which is contrary to all our best hopes as a country. Obviously it is a shocking moment first for the families and to the nation at large. ”
“Our government through the President has had the opportunity to express condolences to their families directly and they will continue to engage and provide the families with the necessary support,” he told the media during a press briefing.
