Swedish-Ghanaian Genesis Antwi signs first professional contract with Chelsea

Genesis Antwi has officially signed his first professional contract with Premier League giants Chelsea.

The club announced this significant milestone for the young Swedish-Ghanaian defender on Friday, September 6, 2024.

Although the club provided details about the signing, it did not reveal the contract’s duration, leaving fans curious about the terms of the agreement.

Chelsea’s statement highlighted Antwi’s journey through the club’s ranks. He became a full-time scholar at the beginning of the 2023/24 season after joining Chelsea at the Under-12 level.

His dedication and talent shone brightly as he contributed significantly to the Blues’ Under-18 Premier League South victory last season.

Antwi’s impressive performances did not go unnoticed, as he played a crucial role in the Chelsea Under-17 Premier League Cup final, securing a win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in April.

At just 17 years old, Antwi has already made a mark in the club’s youth system, appearing three times for the Under-21 team.
