Winners of the 2019 Miss Ghana pageant show have asked Ghanaians to desist from constantly criticising them and rather support them in their quest to lift high the flag of Ghana in international beauty pageants.

Winner of the 2019 edition of the competition, Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi and her runner up, Akosua Kwakyewaa Opoku in an interview with The Ghana Report lamented the ‘unwarranted’ criticisms of some Ghanaians against them.

According to Nana Adwoa Kwabi, her next big task is to compete on the world stage by representing Ghana at the Miss World pageant. She however mentioned that the only way she can excel in the pageant, aside from her own efforts, is for Ghanaians to show her support by rallying behind her on all platforms including social media.

“You know last year there was no support. Last two years there was no support. Even last three years there was no support. We need the support. Ghanaians should support their own, we should learn to support,” she said.

The second runner up also hinted that she will be representing Ghana at Miss West Africa.

The two admonished Ghanaians to like, share and comment on their posts and pictures as those were important winning criteria in the competitions.

A month ago,  the queens were branded as ugly and trolled on social media after pictures of the finale went viral. The queens however hit back and said people should blame the poor quality of their phones for giving them such bad pictures.

The Miss World Pageant comes off in London on December 14 this year.
