Stonebwoy Shares How He Deals with Social Media Attacks: “Only Successful People Get Attacked”

Afro-Dancehall artist Stonebwoy, whose real name is Livingstone Etse Satekla, has opened up about how he navigates the challenges of online attacks, particularly the criticism he often faces from rival artists and fans.

In a recent interview on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown, the celebrated musician explained that criticism is inevitable, especially when one achieves success.

He acknowledged that some of the public attacks, especially from fellow artist Shatta Wale, have been difficult to handle.

Shatta Wale has continuously targeted Stonebwoy with harsh remarks, even as their ongoing rivalry remains unresolved. Despite these attacks, Stonebwoy revealed that he has learned not to let negativity affect him.

“I ignore the attacks and focus on the bigger picture,” he said. He added that he relies on prayer and divine discernment to guide his actions, choosing to only respond when necessary.

Stonebwoy also compared himself to ripe fruit, explaining that only those who are successful are picked and targeted by others.

Furthermore, Stonebwoy reflected on how fame and success come with both admiration and criticism. He emphasized that staying focused on one’s career and personal growth, rather than getting bogged down by online comments, is crucial to long-term success.

In his words, “It is only a ripe fruit that will be plucked,” signifying that criticisms are often a sign of one’s progress in the music industry.

Stonebwoy’s approach is rooted in resilience and a commitment to his craft, as he continues to focus on his music, and performances, and maintaining his positive impact on fans and the industry.

By choosing not to engage in public feuds, Stonebwoy aims to remain professional and avoid being distracted by negativity. This maturity is part of his broader strategy to maintain his status as one of the leading figures in the Ghanaian music scene.
