Stonebwoy responds with ‘Exodus 14:13’ amid NDC Victory Concert controversy

Following his removal from the lineup of entertainers for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)  GhanaVictory Concert, dancehall musician Stonebwoy has taken to social media with a cryptic message, quoting a Bible verse.

The award-winning artiste posted, “From the TORCHER to BHIMNATION. Exodus 14:13.”

The verse reads:
“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever.”

This post has sparked discussions online, with fans and critics interpreting the message as a reflection of Stonebwoy’s stance amid the controversy.

Stonebwoy’s removal from the concert was announced via an official statement from the organisers, citing backlash from NDC grassroots supporters.

Many had raised concerns over the artiste’s alleged association with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and questioned his alignment with the NDC vision.

Adding to the speculation, some believe that Baba Sadiq, an influential entertainment figure and NDC parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi Central, played a role in the decision.

The two have had a public rivalry throughout 2024, fuelling rumours of his involvement in Stonebwoy’s exclusion.

The controversy has sparked debates on social media, with some netizens accusing the concert organisers of sabotaging Stonebwoy’s career, while others view the decision as an effort to maintain unity within the NDC.

Despite the controversy, the NDC Ghana Victory Concert is set to take place today, January 5, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra.

The event, designed to celebrate the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections, will feature other top Ghanaian artistes in a night of music and political celebration.
