Spurs swoop for Seagulls star Bissouma on four-year deal

Tottenham have signed midfielder Yves Bissouma on a four-year deal from Brighton for a reported initial fee of £25million.

The Mali international spent four seasons on the South Coast after joining the Seagulls from Lille in 2017, making 124 appearances.

With one year left on his contract, Bissouma courted attention from many clubs but it is Spurs who have fought off the competition to land his prized signature.

Bissouma, 25, becomes the North Londoners’ third signing of the summer, following the acquisitions of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

Antonio Conte is seeking to build a squad capable of challenging on four fronts next term, with the Italian securing Champions League qualification for the 2022-23 season.

Conte’s men begin their pre-season tour against Team K League in Seoul on July 13.
