Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif highlights 13th African Games as key driver of national progress and development

The 13th African Games promises to be more than just a sporting spectacle, as Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, hails it as a pivotal moment for national advancement.

In a momentous ceremony attended by Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Borteyman Sports Complex was officially inaugurated, marking the commencement of a 25-day countdown to the Games’ commencement.

With Accra set as the host city and premier venues like the University of Ghana Stadium and Borteyman Sports Complex primed, the event is poised to be a catalyst for progress, growth, and development on the African continent.

“The forthcoming African Games carries immense significance for our national development and beyond,” he said.

“The event serves as a catalyst for progress, growth and development and the construction of state-of-the-art facilities in the country not only provides the platform for athletes’ excellence but also contributes to the overall infrastructural development,” he added.
