Special Olympics team to receive GHC 10,000
Ghana’s Special Olympic team will soon be heavy in their pockets as the National Sport Authority promises the team a GHc 10,000 reward for their sterling performance in Egypt.
The team won 16 medals at the just ended 2020 Pan African Special Olympics Games held in the North African country.

The team brought back home three gold, seven silver and six bronze medals.
The athletics team won gold in the 200 metres male event as well as the 4×100 metres male event.
While the football team added a silver to the medal haul after losing 0-1 to Algeria in the final at the Military Stadium in Cairo on January 29.
This is not the first time the team is winning medals.
In March 2019, Hannah Dantakor of Twin-City Special School in Takoradi and Joseph Tettey Amertowosi of the Special School for the Intellectually Disabled in Hohoe wrote their names in the history books at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi when they won gold medals in the 200 and 100 metres respectively.
