President John Dramani Mahama has expressed deep concerns regarding the current state of Ghana’s economy.
According to the president, economic conditions have led to considerable hardship for Ghanaians, marking a period of “unprecedented” struggle.
In his inaugural State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his second term, Mahama emphasised that his role is not to lament the situation but to actively seek solutions to the difficulties of Ghanaians.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead and committed to addressing them.
Looking forward, he stated that upcoming events, including the Economic Forum and the National Budget Statement, will shed light on the economic legacy inherited from the previous administration.
“I am sad to report that the state of the nation is not good. Our economy is in crisis, and our people are suffering unprecedentedly,” he said.
He added, “It is not my style to lament and shift blame when confronted with challenges. My approach is to accept challenges and resolve them. This is what the people of Ghaa voted me to do”.
