Sometimes passion gets the better of me- Vinicius Jr. apologizes for outbursts in El Clasico
Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has apologized for his angry reaction to getting substituted in the El Clasico played recently.
In the first meeting between Real Madrid and archrivals FC Barcelona of the 2025-2026 season, Real secured a 2-1 win with Vinicius Jr playing a big role in Jude Bellingham’s winning goal.
However, in the 72nd minute, the Brazilian was replaced by fellow Brazilian Rodrygo Goes in the 72nd minute and his angry reaction drew a lot of criticism.
While walking off the pitch, Vinicius was caught on tape saying, “Always me. I’m leaving, I’m leaving. It’s better if I leave” prompting Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso to respond saying, “Come on Vini, Damn it”.
Vinicius Jr proceeded to walk straight to the tunnel but came back to the bench and went on to get heavily involved in scuffles with Barcelona players after the game.

Writing on his X (formerly Twitter) page, the Brazilian star apologized for his actions to his teammates and the club. Scroll down to his full statement on X
