Soldiers arrested for performing ‘duty’ at Medikal and Fella’s wedding
The military personnel who escorted rapper, Medikal, to his traditional wedding have been arrested by the Military police.
This was revealed by Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces, Colonel Aggrey Quarshie.
He refused to reveal the identities of the said officers or the number of military officers who have been arrested.
Speaking to theghanareport.com, Col. Aggrey Quarshie said the conduct of the personnel was unprofessional.
According to the military regulations, officers or personnel are only allowed to wear their full regalia while on duty.
It is believed that their presence at the wedding in military uniform was not sanctioned by the command.
Col. Aggrey Quarshie added that the appropriate sanctions would be applied if the personnel are found guilty of any offence.
Videos and pictures from last weekend’s wedding ceremony between actress Fella Makafui and Medikal showed about five military personnel in their full regalia guarding the groom.
The military personnel wore face masks but were quickly identified by their superiors.
The military escorts who were arrested on Saturday are yet to be charged.
