Social media can make or unmake you, be strategic – Izar Group CEO tells young women
Young women in Zongo communities have been advised to be strategic and purposeful in using social media platforms.
CEO of strategic communications company Izar Group, Mrs. Rashida Saani Nasamu explained, the free virtual platforms can be used to carve a strong, positive brand image and grow businesses.

It should therefore not be used lightly and playfully, she told a session of 45 Zongo young women at an entrepreneurship empowerment program organized by the Initiative for Youth Development in Accra.

Picking examples of strategic social media users, Madam Rashida Nasamu mentioned the world’s youngest billionaire Kylie Jenner who at 21 years old owns a make-up company valued at $900million and is reportedly worth $1billion.
While not expecting every youth to reach such dizzy heights, the Izar Group CEO said some useful lessons can be gleaned from Kylie Jenner’s business success.
Madam Rashida Saani Nasamu said in an effort to brand themselves, young women ought not to associate themselves with persons who could dent the image they want to project.
She said in today’s world, no one needs physical interaction to form an impression of a person.

A glance through their social media profiles, comments, and photos is sufficient in making a decision about a person, she said.
Perceptions are powerful, she told them and stressed, shaping that perception should remain a constant goal of young women especially those interested in growing businesses.
