Skeletal Remains Of Barber Suspected Of Killing High School Girlfriend Found

The skeletal remains of Michael Osei, the barber who reportedly murdered his senior high school girlfriend at Akyem Nsutam in the Eastern Region, have been found in a forest.

Reports suggest that a hunter, Baba Tunde, came across the human remains during his journey to the farm.

The discovery of a human skull prompted him to return home and notify the police.

Upon arrival at the site, the police identified the remains as those of Akoumani Kwabena.

His Ghana Card, personal belongings, and a rope secured to a tree were found close to the remains.

Abigail Asare, an 18-year-old second-year General Arts student of the Nsutam Senior High Technical School, was found lifeless in Kwabena’s barbering shop at Nsutam on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

Sources claim Abigail left school after vacation and decided to visit Kwabena, popularly known as Emeka, before going home.

Kwabena allegedly accused Abigail of cheating on him and stabbed her multiple times, leading to her death, according to preliminary information gathered by the police at Nsutam.

The Kibi Divisional Police command took swift action on June 2, 2023, launching a manhunt for Emeka.

On June 5, 2023, personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service picked up two friends of Emeka to assist with investigations and enable them to apprehend Emeka, who was nowhere to be found after the incident.
