Six unemployed nurses granted bail after ‘storming’ Health Ministry
Six members of Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives arrested for picketing at the Ministry of Health premises have been granted bail.
News of their arrest comes after the group had marched from the Efua Sutherland Children park to the Ministry of Health with the intent of lodging at the premises till issues to do with their placement is resolved.
In an interview with The Ghana Report , the National President, Sugri Abdul-Rafiq who is among the arrested nurses revealed that they have been granted bail.
He, however wonders why the police would arrest them considering how peaceful the protest was.
“We informed them weeks ago about our protest, so I actually do not have a clue as to why we were arrested, ” he said worriedly.
Information available suggest the ‘six’ have been asked to report to the station at 12 noon today.
But as at the time of filing this report, the ‘six’ are yet to be attended to by the police.
Meanwhile, the group in a release has asked members to remain calm for more updates and further direction on the matter.
