A devastating discovery was made earlier yesterday in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region, where a middle-aged market woman was found dead in a bush.
The body was found by the roadside at Kumasi Anwomaso-High Tension.
The deceased, a well-known gari seller, was a regular visitor to her daughter’s pharmacy after closing from the market.
However, concern arose when she failed to visit on Saturday, prompting several unsuccessful attempts to reach her by phone.
On Sunday morning, residents made the grim discovery of her lifeless body in the bush, with no visible signs of assault or injury.
The police were promptly notified, and upon arriving at the scene, they found her phone, GH₵800 in cash, and some market-related items.
The woman’s body has been taken to the Emena Hospital mortuary for an autopsy as the police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The community is left in shock, and the incident has raised concerns about safety in the area.
This incident comes after a chilling discovery was made in Dormaa Bebeanhia, in the Bono region, where the lifeless body of an 18-year-old girl was found with her private parts missing.
The circumstances surrounding her death suggest a gruesome murder, with her remains callously dumped in a bush.
According to witnesses, a farmer on her way to her farm noticed flies and an awful smell coming from a bush.
Upon investigation, she discovered the lifeless body of the young lady.
The farmer promptly reported the matter to the police, who deployed officers to the scene.
