Shatta Wale is bigger than Vodafone Ghana Music Awards – Manager

Lawrence Nana Asiamah-Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog, has said that his artiste, Shatta Wale, is bigger and has outgrown the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Reacting to the ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in an interview on 3 FM, monitored by theghanareport.com, Bulldog said he would not advise his artiste to rejoin the scheme when the ban is lifted.

“The transparency level is low when it comes to Ghana Music Awards…I’ve worked at Charterhouse and when I was there, I had concerns,” he said.

Bulldog, who manages Shatta Wale’s, remarks comes on the back of the VGMA organisers snub of the two artistes, who turned last year’s event on its head with violence. The two artistes who dominated last year’s event have not been nominated this year.

The two were banned indefinitely from the awards scheme by organisers and stripped off all awards they won at the 2019 edition after they got into a brawl on the night.

Although fans of the artiste and some industry persons pleaded with the VGMA board and Charterhouse to lift the ban, they released their nominations without the names of the two.

Between the two, Stonebwoy appeared more diplomatic.   He has stated that he had no problem, if the organisers made him face stricter sanctions to serve as a deterrent to others.

My VGMA ban should be extended – Stonebwoy

In a recent press conference, the ‘Epistles of Mama’ singer asked for an extended ban.

“The young ones must know that you can’t just misbehave on an awards stage and go free. Such punishments are good to check musicians. The ban has not affected me in any way, but it’s all good for the music industry,” he said.
