Shatta Wale cancels Freedom Wave Concert after stadium brouhaha
Reggae-dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has cancelled the 2023 Freedom Wave Concert which was to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium from December 20th to 25th.
A flyer posted on social media listed a number of events Shatta Wale and Medikal will be hosting during the occasion.
Days later, reggae dancehall artiste Stonebwoy also announced his annual end-of-the-year BHIM Concert which will take place at the same Accra Sports Stadium on the 22nd of December.

Shatta Wale, who was not pleased with this development took to social media to vent his frustrations. He accused the Stonebwoy and his team of trying to sabotage his show with Medikal, which has been held at the Accra Sports Stadium for the past two years.
One of the members in Shatta Wale’s management team, Sammy Atuoba Baah known as Sammy Flex in an interview confirmed that Shatta Wale has cancelled his upcoming Freedom Wave Concert.
âAs a result of this brouhaha, Shatta Wale has decided to cancel the Freedom Wave Concert altogetherâ.
Sammy Flex added that there are no plans to stage the concert elsewhere for now.
âThe show has been cancelled until we receive a positive update from the National Sports Authority (NSA)â, he noted.
