Selling On Footbridges In Accra

The lack of space in business cosmopolitans, reflects the population spillover especially in the capital, Accra.  One indicator is the constant engineering for space within milling crowds.

About the image attached to this story, you find traders taking over the Madina footbridge and other pavements. The early morning picture would have changed for the worse as more and more commodity sellers would have trooped in as the day wore on to cover every space on the pedestrian footbridge.

The congestion in the facility is also because most traders defy orders to sell in designated markets. They prefer selling on roadsides and along pedestrian walkways where their wares are easier to access by shoppers.
