See the list of all candidates contesting in the NPP parliamentary primaries

The governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) has released the names of all candidates contesting in the parliamentary primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024, in all constituencies with sitting Members of Parliament(MPs).

At a National Executive Committee(NEC) meeting held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the party finalized the list of aspiring parliamentary candidates contesting for the upcoming primaries.

At the time the meeting was held, the fate of the Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong, Kennedy Kwasi Kankam was not decided as there was a pending legal case.

It will be recalled that a polling station executive of the NPP recently filed a suit to stop Mr Kankam from participating in the parliamentary primaries.

The applicant was seeking a court interpretation of the rules governing the conduct of NPP parliamentary primaries in constituencies with sitting MPs, given Mr Kankam’s current position as the Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong.

However, the National Organizer for the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye, addressing an issue of alleged discrimination in the parliamentary primaries revealed that Mr. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam will be participating in the upcoming parliamentary primaries since the applicant had withdrawn the legal case.
