Paul Scholes questioned former team-mate Michael Carrick’s credentials for the Manchester United job after he suffered his first defeat in charge.
Ten-man Newcastle struck late through Wiliam Osula to seal a 2-1 win over Manchester United, ending Carrick’s seven-game unbeaten run since replacing Ruben Amorim.
In a post on Instagram, Scholes wrote: “Michael has definitely got something special about him…because Man Utd have been c*** the last four games.”

United failed to capitalise on Jacob Ramsey’s controversial first-half sending off in yet another sub-par performance that did not come as a surprise after the previous three outings.
Scholes also reiterated his admiration for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, who he says is the Premier League’s best midfielder and would be a good fit for his old club, by posting his name with a love heart emoji.
