Sarkodie makes it onto Billboard’s social 50 chart
Rapper Sarkodie, born Micheal Owusu Addo, has made his debut on the Billboard Social 50 list.
The artiste, on Thursday, April 16, appeared on the chart at number 48.
He comes after Rihanna who is at 46 and 5 Seconds of Summer at 47.
However, he beat American rapper Gucci Mane and Brazillian singer Anitta to claim the 48th position.
Sarkodie has become one of the few African artistes to make it on the chart since it was launched in December 2010.
‘The Billboard Social 50’ is a popularity chart which ranks the most active musical artists on the world’s leading social networking services.
Billboard Magazine collects each artist’s weekly additions of friends, fans and followers, along with artist website views and streaming media and ranks them.
Sarkodie’s appearance on the chart did not come as a surprise to many as he has been more active and interactive with followers on social media in recent past.
