Sarkodie, M.anifest release historic ‘Brown Paper Bag’

Many have, for years, waited with bated breath to see the day two of Ghana’s fiercest rappers – Sarkodie and M.anifest – will release a song.

Considering the history between them, a song between them will definitely ease the tension between the camps of the two artistes as to whether they are still beefing or are now the best of friends.

In 2016, M.anifest and Sarkodie were embroiled in one of the biggest rap beef the country has ever witnessed.

M.anifest, in his ‘godMC’ track, threw shots at Sarkodie after he released his ‘Bossy’ song. Sarkodie also quickly replied to M.anifest in his ‘Kanta’ track.

Their beef trended on social media for several weeks and generated a lot of public debate over who is the best among the two.

After that beef, the two had not really seen eye to eye. They, however, surprised many, when they squashed their beef at the 2018 edition of M.anifest’s Manifestivities when they performed together.

Almost two years after hitting the stage at the Manifestivities, the two rappers have released a surprise joint song – ‘Brown Paper Bag’ – together.

The song was released barely 24 hours after Sarkodie, his wife, daughter and new baby touched down in Ghana from the US where they had been stranded for months.

‘Brown Paper Bag’, produced by ‘Nova’, instantly got social media buzzing with comments and reaction with many generally surprised by the collaboration while others applauded the two rappers.
