Award-winning rapper and music writer Sarkodie is trending due to his new album, “JAMZ”, which has hit 100 million views on Boomplay just an hour after it was released.

This achievement granted Michael Owusu Add, known as Sarkodie, access to be part of Boomplay’s Golden Club after Black Sherif, also a Ghanaian.

Before the release of the album on Friday, November 11, 2022, Sarkodie visited the Boomplay office as part of his pre-activations for his “JAMZ” album on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

He shared a tweet with fans on social media when told about the impending achievement, “Inside @BoomplayMusicGH offices and I’ve been told we hitting 100 mill streams SARKNATION thank you… Let’s hit it with #Jamzalbum.”

According to Boomplay, Sarkodie was the most streamed artiste in the year 2021 based on an analysis conducted by the management of Boomplay to highlight the performances of artistes based on music consumption by users across Boomplay’s operational regions under a specified year.

The year 2022 has not ended, but the competition is now between Black Sheriff and Sarkodie as to which artiste becomes the most streamed on Boomplay.

Meanwhile, the management of Boomplay has disclosed that the streamer’s 2022 recap will be announced in a few weeks to the general public.
