An activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dela Coffie has described the conduct of the National Communications Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi, as appalling and an epic embarrassment to the values of the NDC.

His comments come on the back of reports that the party’s communications officer has been on the campaign trail garnering support for Ningo Prampram MP, Sam George ahead of the party’s primaries on Saturday.

The ardent cadre appears livid over the action of Sammy Gyamfi which he describes as totally unacceptable and a clear disregard for the laws governing the conduct of the elections.

Dela Coffie noted in a write up copied to The Ghana Report that “But here, we see him openly campaigning for the Ningo-Prampram candidate Sam George, against party rules.”

Dela Coffie further found it ridiculous to have National Executive Committee members and the flagbearer’s frontmen throw their weight behind one aspirant against other contenders in the NDC’s internal elections.

“It is utterly appalling, egregious cowardice and epic embarrassment for the NDC. It tells us one thing: Sam George’s record of neglect, broken promises and decay has caught up with him, and he’s so afraid of his own shadow – He’s got his widdle feelings hurt by the popular support for his contender, Michael Tetteh Kwetey, and now he’s pouting and gasping for survival, so much that, he needed the likes of Omane Boamah, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, Nii Lante Vanderpuye and Sammy Gyamfi to shore up for him.

Dela Coffie Writes:

So, what informed the decision of the NDC National Communications officer, Sammy Gyamfi to go out there campaigning with the flagbearer’s name and claiming Sam George is Mahama’s handpicked candidate in the Ningo-Prampram constituency?

Section 11(a), (b) and (c) of the guidelines for the election of NDC parliamentary candidates for the 2020 elections barred all organs, institutions, structures or National, Regional and Constituency Executives from the issuance of press releases, public pronouncements or statements in support of any parliamentary aspirant.

Yes, Sammy Gyamfi as National Executive Committee member is supposed to remain neutral in the parliamentary primaries but he’s on the grounds at Ningo-Prampram campaigning for Sam George against party rules.

The tragedy of today’s NDC lies partly in how far it has fallen. We are all being fed rubbish and the likes of Sammy Gyamfi and their enablers are serving it up.

It is utterly appalling, egregious cowardice and epic embarrassment for the NDC to have members of its National Executive Committee and the flagbearer’s frontmen throw their weight behind one aspirant against other contenders in internal elections. It also tells us one thing: Sam George’s record of neglect, broken promises and decay has caught up with him, and he’s so afraid of his own shadow – He’s got his widdle feelings hurt by the popular support for his contender, Michael Tetteh Kwetey, and now he’s pouting and gasping for survival, so much that, he needed the likes of Omane Boamah, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, Nii Lante Vanderpuye and Sammy Gyamfi to shore up for him.

I can’t wait to read his “political obituary” come Saturday August 24th, 2019.
