Sally Mann: I don’t pick on celebrities, they aren’t my business

Since last year, entertainment journalist, Sally Frimpong Mann appears to be on the lips of showbiz enthusiasts, mostly for speaking ill about fans’ fave celebrities.

She has particularly been labelled envious and bitter about the success of renowned Ghanaian actress and TV personality, Nana Ama McBrown for her supposedly unsavoury comments about the latter’s career.

Just before that case could ‘cool down’, Sally was yet in the news again. This time around, it was her description of Diana Hamilton’s songs as “one-way”.

During a review of Diana’s song on Power Entertainment Review, Sally bluntly told the 2021 TGMA Artiste of the Year winner that it was boring listening to her songs since they had similar rhythms.

And just last week, it was fans of Stonebwoy descending on her for stating that the industry deliberately pushed him above Shatta Wale, comments many criticised as an affront to Stonebwoy’s hard work.

However, Sally denies that she deliberately picks on creatives but only speaks the truth.

“I don’t speak my truth, I speak the truth and I want people to understand that I don’t have anything like a filter when it comes to speaking the truth. I’m a Jehovah’s Witness and my Christian doctrines always guide my life.

“I’ve never been one to sugarcoat my thoughts or opinions. If I believe something, I’ll say it,” she noted.

Even though Sally was hesitant to speak about her private life, she told Graphic Showbiz her family fully supports her.

“My family is very okay with me and there are many people who love me as well. It’s just a minority on social media who are barking. As I speak with you, my mother and I have discussed my next presentation on Showtym and she’s endorsed it.

“My only headache is to live a legacy for my children and as a Jehovah’s Witness, that legacy is to make sure my children go to paradise,” she added.
