Salis Samed demoted to RC Lens reserve team
Ghana midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has been relegated to the reserve team of RC Lens.
The 24-year-old, along with his teammate Stijn Spierings, has been moved to the reserve squad by the head coach, Will Still.
Coach Still explained that the decision was made due to a lack of space in his first-team squad, with the French Ligue 1 club planning to offload Salis during the summer transfer window.
“For the well-being of the group and the training sessions, it was necessary to trim the group a little,” Still was quoted as saying by Foot Mercato.
Salis is currently under contract with RC Lens until June 2028. According to Transfermarkt, any club interested in acquiring him will need to offer around €8 million.
The midfielder will now be looking to secure a transfer quickly to reignite his career at a new club, as he is still at a prime age for a professional footballer.
So far, Salis has made 19 appearances for Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars.
