SAD! Mother abandons baby at Zebilla market

An unidentified mother has abandoned her baby behind some commercial shops at Zebilla market in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.

Eyewitnesses reported that a shopper heard the baby crying from behind one of the shops.

Alarmed, the shopper alerted others.

Together, they proceeded to the location only to find an abandoned child.

The infant was taken to the Zebilla District Police Station, where proper documentation was initiated.

Officers from the Social Welfare Department of the Bawku West District responded to assist in the situation.

Later, the baby was transferred to the Bawku West District Hospital in Zebilla for necessary medical care and monitoring.
