Russia’s First Feature Film Was Staged In Space

The Russian movie titled “The Challenge” (“Vyzov”), the first feature film to be shot in space, has grossed over one billion rubles ($12.6 million) at the domestic box office after only 13 days in theatres, according to the Russian Cinema Fund’s analytics.

This has been the dream of Hollywood which the Russian director by name Klim Shipenko pulled off successfully

This Russian director and his lead actress flew up to space in October 2021 and filmed for a few weeks. The story follows a female surgeon who has to perform an operation on a cosmonaut too ill to return to Earth. There will only be about 30-40 minutes of actual space footage in the film, the rest was shot (on the ground) in studios and at real locations.
