Roy Keane ‘wishes’ Man Utd had signed Thomas Partey
Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane, has expressed the wish that Thomas Partey dons a Manchester United player.
The Man United legend was so impressed watching the Ghanaian midfielder live in the Premier League match between Arsenals and Manchester United on Sunday that he wished the club had made the move for him.
The 27-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Spanish club Atletico Madrid on deadline day seems to be living up to expectations after a move which cost £45m.
“We said before the game, this guy’s no mug, he’s played for a big club, he’s played in big competitions,” Keane told Sky Sports.
“We saw today, when you watch a player live that’s when you can judge a player.
“The more I look at him the more I wish he was in Man United’s midfield.
“Big, strong, aggressive, obviously going back with Arsenal I had my battles with Patrick Vieira, I think this kid has got a chance of matching what Patrick used to do. He added.
Arsenal won the game at Old Trafford for the first time since 2004 in the Premier League through a 69th minute Aubameyang spot-kick.
A stacked stat sheet from an excellent midfield display saw football pundits and followers speak highly of the former Atletico Madrid man.
