Robbers steal AK-47 rifle and ammunition in brazen police station attack
Suspected armed robbers have stolen an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and other police equipment after they raided the Sehwi Asafo Police Station in the Sehwi Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region.
The robbers reportedly broke into the station on Friday, February 21, and attacked the armoury.
They managed to steal the rifle, several rounds of ammunition, and other items in the armoury and quickly escaped from the scene on the blind side of the officers on duty.
Following the heist at the police station, the robbers also attacked a Catholic priest at his residence, where they opened fire.

However, there were no casualties.
Initial investigations suggest the robbers were highly organised, with some speculating that they may have been aware of the police station’s security layout.
The police have since launched an investigation into the incidents to apprehend the suspect.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the inspector in charge of the Sehwi Police Station has been interdicted pending investigations.
