American award-winning rapper Rick Ross has assured Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall star Stonebwoy of linking him to Pop star Rihanna for possibly a collaboration.
Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II, made this promise in an Instagram Live chat with Stonebwoy after expressing interest in working with him [Stonebwoy] for his upcoming African project.
In their conversation, the American rapper asked Stonebwoy who his dream collaborations were, and he answered;
“It’s got to be you and on the female side it’s got to be Rihanna or Taylor Swift, for now”.
To this, Rick Ross reacted: “Rihanna, we could get that done this week”.
“And the only reason I’m not gonna say tonight is because I got another dinner. I’ve been celebrating my birthday all week, my brother”.
Nicknamed Ricky Rozay, he stressed his commitment to ensuring the collaboration between Stonebwoy and Rihanna happened saying, “I’m just gonna let you know, we gonna do that”.
Rick Ross has several collaborations with Rihanna including Cake Remix and Pour It Up Remix.
It will be recalled that in 2017, Rick Ross and Stonebwoy collaborated on ‘Sizzla’s Shoot Ya’ remix. In 2023, the American rapper publicly endorsed Stonebwoy’s 5th Dimension album which has given him much acclamation in the music industry.
Recently, renowned reggae artiste Hezron Clarke lauded Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall Stonebwoy, proclaiming him as the only Ghanaian act he is acquainted with, and boasting a popularity in Jamaica that surpasses all other artistes from Ghana.
Clarke, who expressed his admiration for Stonebwoy’s global appeal, revealed his intention to collaborate with Ghanaian musicians during his stay. “I’m supposed to collaborate with Wutah Afriyie and Ras Kuuku,” he announced, adding that he also plans to shoot a music video in Ghana.
Stonebwoy’s international collaborations include work with Sean Paul (Most Original), Beenie Man (Shuga), Shaggy (My Sound), Keri Hilson (Nominate), Stormzy (Life & Money), and Angelique Kidjo (Manodzi).
