Richie Mensah Advocates Ghanaian ownership of music catalogs

Music producer and CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah, is calling on Ghanaian artists and industry stakeholders to take ownership of their music catalogs.

He revealed these comments at a recent event in Accra named ‘Live The Music’ which attracted key figures from the creative industry by highlighting the significance of this initiative.

He stated “We need to take control of our narratives and ensure that our artistic heritage is preserved and celebrated”.

He therefore called for industry experts to support this initiative heralded by Lynx Entertainment, noting it will go beyond just music, but fashion, dance, the general arts in the creative industry.

The Lynx entertainment CEO also advocated for more education within the industry, by suggesting professionals should invest their expertise by providing guidance to artists on how to maintain and control their music rights, whilst getting enlightened on legal advice on ownership of their intellectual property.
