Residents threaten to demonstrate over deplorable Ablekuma-Manhean road
Some aggrieved Ablekuma residents and its environs have threatened to embark on a massive demonstration in the coming weeks if nothing is done to the deplorable condition of the Ablekuma Manhean road.
The residents, Monday morning blocked a section of the road to relay their frustration over the deplorable condition of the road.
According to them, the only language the government can relate to is “demonstration” hence the need to take these bold steps to block the main Ablekuma Curve-Manhean-Afuaman road including all access routes.
One angry resident in an interview with The Ghana Report stressed, the current state of the road is not one to be plied on by cars, especially with constant rain showers this month.
“We are tired. If nothing is done about the situation, we will use heavy metallic objects and concrete slabs to block the Ablekuma Curve-Afuaman road. We will do same to all other major routes connecting the communities, ” the aggrieved resident lamented.
She added “Why do we pay taxes, tolls, levies to the central government, is it not to fix deplorable roads in communities?”.
Residents have therefore disclosed that they will begin a series of protests to voice out their concerns and get the government to fix the deplorable road condition.
