The Electoral Commission (EC) has begun the replacement of Voter ID cards for individuals who have lost or defaced their cards ahead of the 2024 general elections.
An online payment portal has been introduced by the EC to aid with the exercise.
According to a statement issued by the Commission, the exercise will begin on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 and end on Monday, October 9, 2023.
The statement further indicated that an SMS will be sent to applicants upon the successful completion of the transaction.
“This notification is to be presented at the point of payment,” it added.
Meanwhile, the EC says it will not extend the 21-day limited voter registration exercise that ended on Monday, 2 October 2023.
The EC says it will only register eligible Ghanaians who were in the queue on or before 5:00 p.m. during the last day of the exercise.
