Prudential Bank dismisses rumour of imminent collapse

Prudential Bank Limited has described as “malicious” and “false” rumour circulating on social media imploring customers of the banks to withdraw their funds because the bank is insolvent and on the verge of collapse.

The Management of Prudential Bank in a statement issued October 9 described the posts as fabrications calculated to destroy the good image of the bank.

“The Bank has never experienced any liquidity problems nor has it gone to the bank for any liquidity support in it’s twenty-two (22) year history. This can be attested to by Bank of Ghana,” the Management of the bank said in a statement.

The Bank insists it has always complied with the requirements for quarterly and annual financial publications and monthly submission of returns to Bank of Ghana.
