Provide proof of payments – Menzgolders to NAM1

Customers of defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold Ghana Limited, have refuted claims that they have received some GHC9.6 million as payment for locked-up funds.

The group said claims by CEO Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) to the effect of some payments were “false” since they have not received such payments.

General Secretary of the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold, Samuel Odartey, led scores to hold a press conference on Monday.

Menzgold says it has released list of 200 paid clients to CID

He said the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) had frozen NAM1’s assets which included his Trassaco properties so “where did NAM1 get the money to pay GH¢9.6 million and how was the payment done.”

The group has asked NAM1 to come clean and release the details of the customers he paid.

Mr. Odartey was responding to a statement by NAM1 which said customers had not been neglected.

NAM1 had also stated that Menzgold was committed to paying up to GHC 60million by the end of this year.

“We’re capable, committed, and shall continue to appreciate the paid-up figure to a conservatively minimum amount of Six Hundred (600) billion old Ghana cedis (GHS60M) before the end of the calendar month of December 2020 as we commence productivity now.

“Many see the Menzgold customer body purportedly locking horns with the Company; I see a customer body in the light of a readily available huge market, representing an embodiment of personal and corporate brands unmatched confidence, preservation of which is extremely necessary for our possible present and future endeavors,” NAM 1 noted.
