Professor Kobby Mensah, a political analyst and a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited.
His appointment by President John Dramani Mahama was confirmed in a letter signed by Dr. Calistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the president.
With his background in academics, marketing, and tourism, Prof. Mensah is expected to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.
Throughout his career, Prof. Mensah has been instrumental in promoting tourism through various initiatives such as the ‘Destination Legon Tourism Marketing Exhibition,’ which integrates academia with industry practice.
Prof. Kobby Mensah holds PhD in Journalism from the University of Sheffield, UK, and an MSc in International Marketing from Sheffield Hallam University, UK.
He is a Chartered Marketer (CIM, UK), a member of the Political Marketing Specialist Group (PMSG) of the Political Studies Association (PSA), UK; Associate Editor, African Journal of Management Research, UGBS; and a Member of Palgrave McMillan Board on Political Marketing Management Book Series.
Kobby serves as Chair of the Sales and Marketing Compliance Committee of Accra Brewery Ltd (ABL).
He consults for corporate and political institutions on political marketing, corporate communications, social media deployment, and tourism marketing.
