President Akufo-Addo has appointed Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor as Caretaker Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
According to a statement from the presidency dated January 13, 2023, Mr Jinapor will assume responsibility for the Ministry from Monday, January 16, 2023, pending the appointment of a substantive Minister.
This follows the resignation of Mr Alan Kyeremanten from his portfolio as the Minister of Trade to concentrate on his presidential ambitions.
The President had earlier appointed the Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta as the Caretaker Minister following Mr Kyeremanten’s exit.
