Six persons, including a pregnant woman, have been confirmed dead after a ghastly accident on the Sunyani-Drobo road in the Bono Region.
A statement from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Wednesday, November 29, said the accident involved a Toyota Corolla and an Opel Astra.
According to the GNFS, two individuals were fortunate to be rescued from the wreckage.
“Fire Service Rescuers from the Berekum Fire Station bravely responded at 1132 hours to a devastating accident involving an Opel Astra cab (GT 5597-12) and a Toyota Corolla car (AS 150-22),” the statement said.
The cause of the accident is not immediately known.
However, the two cars collided head-on and veered off the road into a nearby bush, causing severe damage to both vehicles.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic collision.
