Pray for the peace of Ghana – Dr. Gyampo writes
Whiles everyone is talking about the Electoral Commission, voter registration and allied issues relating to electoral politics in Ghana, I choose to soberly reflect and share these few words with you.
But before then, I pray we all pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Ghana). Without peace, we cannot do the partisan politics we so much cherish. Regardless of whoever is right or wrong, let there be a deliberate effort to protect our peace.
Today, Galatians 3:3 wonders whether we are that foolish to begin whatever we do with the Spirit, and try to perfect our actions by our own human efforts. Indeed, it states:
_”Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?”
People, this text above, attempts a definition of foolishness as beginning a thing with God and seeking to perfect it by human efforts.
Many times you find a believer wrestling in prayer for a particular thing, only for his relationship with God to change after having received that thing.
A young lady may spend sleepless nights beseeching God for a husband, only for her to begin to treasure the man when he has arrived, more than her God, who has proved Himself faithful in all things. She does everything in her power to satisfy that man and keep her marriage. She keeps sidelining God until her efforts prove inadequate in holding it all together.
A young unemployed man may battle in prayer until he gets his dream job, but then he gets so busy with his job that he forgets his God.
What more can we say about the believer who is seeking admission into school, the one believing God for financial breakthrough, the one trusting God for travelling mercies, promotion, or even some property of a sought? All these believers may seek God diligently, until they receive their hearts’ desires.
Let us be wise by allowing the One who has begun with you to be the same One who ends with you. Don’t receive an answer to your prayer and abandon the One who answered you. It is not a wise thing to do.
The Lord bless us all
