The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has informed its cherished customers about ongoing efforts to restore power following outages that affected parts of Accra on Tuesday, March 25, due to a severe rainstorm.
In a statement released on March 26, ECG explained that the blackout was due to damage caused by strong winds, which affected sections of their network.
Electrical faults and service interruptions were reported across various locations, with some parts of Madina still in darkness nearly 24 hours after the rains.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of Accra and its environs yesterday evening, March 25, has caused some outages within our network,” the ECG statement noted.

The company also stated that a team of engineers has been sent out to assess the damage and carry out necessary repairs to ensure power is restored as promptly as possible.
