A polling agency, Global Info Analytics, has predicted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is likely to emerge victorious in the upcoming Assin North by-election.
The by-election which has been scheduled for June 27, 2023, comes after Parliament declared the seat vacant following a Supreme Court ruling.
According to a recent poll conducted in April by Global Info Analytics, the sentiment among voters in the Assin North constituency appears to favor the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Factors such as the state of the road network, the constituents’ standard of living, and general optimism were taken into consideration.
The Executive Director and Head of Polls for Global Info Analytics, Musah Dankwah, shared the findings of the survey with Citi News monitored by theghanareport.com.
The poll indicated that a considerable majority of voters in the constituency expressed dissatisfaction with the current trajectory of the country. Notably, 77 percent of respondents believed that Ghana was heading in the wrong direction.
Also, the survey revealed that approximately 66 percent of participants felt that the standard of living had deteriorated over the past twelve months.
Additionally, a significant 80 percent of individuals expressed pessimism about the prospects of improvement within the next twelve months.
Meanwhile, the deposed Assin North MP James Gyakye Quayson will be running on the ticket of the NDC.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), on the other hand, is still accepting nominations from prospective candidates for the election.
